UFC FIGHTER CUB Swanson says he has been guaranteed that he will get the next title shot against featherweight champion Jose Aldo — provided he beats Frankie Edgar.

Aldo retained his belt with a unanimous decision victory over Chad Mendes in Rio de Janeiro last weekend to take his winning run to 18 fights.

Earlier this month, UFC president Dana White hinted that Irish contender Conor McGregor could be handed the chance to take on the Brazilian next but Swanson, ranked number two in the division, claims it’ll be his turn if he can overcome Edgar.

The pair headline UFC Fight Night in Austin, Texas on 22 November.
