GARETH BALE’S LAST-gasp penalty stole an unconvincing 2-1 win for Real Madrid at Cordoba after Cristiano Ronaldo had been given his marching orders.
Manchester United flop Bebe almost put the hosts two goals to the good in the 18th minute, firing just wide of the post following a driving run into the penalty area.
Ronaldo was given a straight red card for lashing out at a Cordoba defender with the score deadlocked at 1-1 eight minutes from time at the Estadio Nuevo Arcangel.

However, Bale spared his team-mate’s blushes when he converted from the penalty spot in the 89th minute after his own free-kick had been handled – with Cordoba’s Federico Cartabia receiving a second booking for that offence.

Real therefore move four points clear of Barcelona ahead of the Catalans’ trip to Elche later tonight, but Carlo Ancelotti will be concerned by his side’s performance and the fact Ronaldo — who cut a frustrated figure throughout the clash — could now face a three-game ban for violent conduct.
Did something similar against Portsmouth when playing for United. Must be frustrating having defenders pull and grab you but fair red there.
Was one hell of a swing as well, lucky for the guy not full contact…
Graham I think Ron should stick to football and not give up his day job for boxing lol
Typical crap. I fail to understand how a rugby player (or child) can withstand a full body contact and just brush it off, yet a soccer player only has to be in the vicinity of something passing close to him and they go down in a heap.
It’s a pretty ugly side of the game alright. That said I remember watching Munich in action last year and Robben who is oft criticised for going to ground far to easily had the ball in the box and in spite of a few fairly dodgy challenges, stayed on his feet and got his shot off only for it to go wide. The commentators and half time analysts both mentioned how he should have gone to ground to get the penalty.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Ronaldo may be a world class footballer but if he entered the ring throwing hissy fit jabs like that Connor McGregor would have him flat in a few seconds…
Well its a good thing he’s not a boxer then isn’t it?
McGregor may be a world class fighter but if he tried to tackle Ronaldo then he’d be left tackling fresh air while Ronnie is ten yards down the road.
See how stupid it sounds when you turn it around?
Your the one turning it around thus you are stupid lmao.
In what parallel universe would you see Ronaldo stepping into the Octagon against McGregor ye eejit?
