Cowboys bounce back as Bears' hibernation starts early

Cole Beasley had a night to remember for Dallas.

THE DALLAS COWBOYS held off a late charge by the Chicago Bears to maintain their perfect road record in the NFL with a 41-28 victory on Thursday night.

A pair of touchdowns from Cole Beasley saw the visitors lead 35-7 with a quarter to play in Chicago on Thursday.

The Bears went up a gear in the last 15 minutes, scoring three TDs, but any chance of winning was snuffed out with less than two minutes remaining when Orlando Scandrick intercepted Jay Cutler’s attempted pass to Josh Morgan.

The win was Dallas’ fifth in a row this season away from home and reduced the gap between the Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles at the top of the National Football Conference East division.

Philadelphia remain on top with a 9-3 record but the Cowboys are in striking distance at 9-4.

If the Eagles lose to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Dallas could leapfrog Philadelphia next week when they visit their division rivals.

Dallas opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the second quarter through DeMarco Murray and although Chicago tied the game up soon after, the visitors edged ahead eight seconds before half-time when Beasley got in the endzone for the first time with a powerful run after a Tony Romo pass.

Beasley sparked the Cowboys in the third quarter, diving in at the corner to give Dallas a 21-7 lead, and the visitors got into the endzone two more times for the term via Gavin Escobar and Joseph Randle.

The Bears hit back in the fourth quarter with Alshon Jeffery, Matt Forte and Cutler scoring TDs but two field goals from Dan Bailey ensured Dallas won by a comfortable margin.
