Rebels make 6 changes for qualifier showdown with Galway

That’s if you believe Conor Counihan this time around.

CORK BOSS Conor Counihan made six personnel changes from the side which lost the Munster SFC decider to Kerry, ahead of the All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Galway.

Goalkeeper Ken O’Halloran is dropped for Alan Quirke, Pearse O’Neill and Alan O’Connor are paired in midfield while Mark Collins gets the nod at wing forward, having been introduced as a sub in Killarney.

Ciarán Sheehan comes in for Donncha O’Connor while the likes of Paul Kerrigan, Paudie Kissane and Noel O’Leary apparently miss out. Conor Counihan received some criticism last time out however when he named what was essentially a dummy team for the provincial final however.

The Rebels face Alan Mulholland’s Galway at Croke Park on Saturday evening with a place in the All-Ireland last-eight up for grabs.

Cork XV (to face Galway): Alan Quirke; Eoin Cadogan, Michael Shields, Thomas Clancy; Damien Cahalane, Graham Canty, James Loughrey; Alan O’Connor, Pearse O’Neill; Mark Collins, Aidan Walsh, John O’Rourke; Daniel Goulding, Ciaran Sheehan, Brian Hurley.

Subs: Ken O’Halloran, John Mc Loughlin, Tomás Clancy, Noel O’Leary, Jamie O’Sullivan, Paudie Kissane, Andrew O’Sullivan, Fintan Goold, Patrick Kelly, Paul Kerrigan, Donncha O’Connor
