Source: Last year’s Allstar goalkeeper has been outstanding this season. The 28 year-old is great shot-stopper and offers a scoring dimension as well from frees.
Stephen Mc Donnell (Glen Rovers)
Source: Part of the Cork minor side that reached the 2007 All-Ireland final, McDonnell burst onto the senior scene two years ago and has bedded down in defence.
Shane O’Neill (Bishopstown)
Source: One of the longer-serving players having made his senior debut in 2007. Tenacious defender who was on the senior squad when they won the 2005 All-Ireland title.
Conor O’Sullivan (Sarsfields)
Source: Never played minor for the county but winning 3 Cork SHC medals with Sarsfields and a Fitzgibbon Cup with UCC, has shown what a clever and skilful defender he is.
Brian Murphy (Bride Rovers)
Source: The 31 year-old is vastly experienced having won All-Ireland senior medals in 2004 and 2005, the Young Hurler of the Year award in 2004 and an Allstar in 2006.
Christopher Joyce (Na Piarsaigh)
Source: Joyce has continued the tradition of fine defenders from his club since emerging into the Cork senior side last year. Still only 21, he has grown in confidence.
William Egan (Kilbrin)
Source: Egan has been in the Cork setup since 2010 and has been on the UCC team that won the last two Fitzgibbon Cup crowns.
Lorcan McLoughlin (Kanturk)
Source: The 23 year-old has emerged a key midfielder and is a consistent scoretaker. Won an All-Ireland U21 football medal for Cork in 2009. His brother John is a Cork senior footballer.
Daniel Kearney (Sarsfields)
Source: One of the newcomers on the side who has lit up their campaign this summer. Like O’Sullivan, has shone at club level for Sarsfields and colleges level for UCC.
Seamus Harnedy (St Ita’s)
Source: Before this season 23 year-old Harnedy had never played for Cork at minor or U21 level. But he has been outstanding this summer and won man-of-the-match last time out against Clare.
Pa Cronin (Bishopstown)
Source: The captain of the team made his debut for Cork against Clare back in 2007. Has plenty experience and the 26 year-old is a vital figure in the half-forward line.
Conor Lehane (Midleton)
Source: The 21 year-old emerged as a really exciting prospect in last year’s league for the Cork senior side. Starred on the UCC side that won last March’s Fitzgibbon Cup.
Luke O’Farrell (Midleton)
Source: The 23 year-old has blistering pace and impressed against Dublin. Played for Mary Immaculate College alongside Clare’s John Conlon in this year’s Fitzgibbon Cup final.
Patrick Horgan (Glen Rovers)
Source: Horgan is the attacking lynchpin of the team and has grabbed 1-31 to date this year. Made his debut in 2008 and his sending-off against Limerick was a big setback for the team.
Jamie Coughlan (Newtownshandrum)
Source: The 21 year-old first played for the Cork seniors in 2010. Played for Cork IT in last year’s Fitzgibbon Cup final and has won Cork and Munster club medals with Newtownshandrum.
