Anthony Nash drops to the bench as Cork make six changes for Antrim clash

There are first starts of the season for Brian Hartnett and Rebels newcomer Brian Lawton.

JIMMY BARRY MURPHY has made six changes to the team that defeated Offaly last weekend ahead of Sunday’s Allianz League Division 1B clash with Antrim.

The Rebels boss has replaced goalkeeper Anthony Nash with Darren McCarthy in an effort to get the Ballymartle man some game time between the sticks. Stephen White and Christopher Joyce come into the Cork defence in place of Eoin Cadogan and Shane O’Neill. Cadogan will play with the Cork footballers this weekend while O’Neill is on exam leave.

Rob O’Shea drops down to the bench in place of Cork captain Patrick Cronin, who is partnered in midfield by Lorcán McLoughlin.

In the forwards, there are first starts of the season for Brian Hartnett — in for Aidan Walsh [football duty] — and Brian Lawton. Squad newcomer Lawton has been drafted in for Stephen Moylan in the half forward line.

Mark Ellis and Luke O’Farrell, Cork announced, are injured while Alan Cadogan is on duty with the U21 footballers. The Rebels, who are currently unbeaten in Division 1B, face Antrim in Ballycastle from 2pm on Sunday.
