NEW CORK CAPTAIN Michael Shields got his hands on some early season silverware today.
Shields lead the Cork footballers to victory over Kerry by 1-11 to 0-10 in the McGrath Cup final in Mallow.
The St Finbarr’s club man has taken over as Cork captain following the retirement of Graham Canty.
But he wasn’t getting carried away after the match. ‘Early days yet’ was his proclamation to the Cork supporters after being presented with the trophy afterwards.
