CORK’S C&S UCC Demons created basketball history at the weekend as they became the first team to go through a whole season undefeated en-route to Champions Trophy glory.
In a thrilling end-of-season finale in Galway, Demons edged past Templeogue 85-73 to add to their League and Cup double as they won their 24th game in succession.
Given their success this year, you’d think their captain would be used to lifting silverware but in his eagerness to get hold of the cup, Shane Coughlan unceremoniously ripped the handle off it.
The reaction of the two-man presentation party is priceless. Facepalm.
