CORK AND WEXFORD were, as expected, the big winners when the 2012 Camogie All Stars were announced on Saturday night in Dublin.
All-Ireland champions Wexford and runners-up Cork each received six awards, while Model County manager JJ Doyle was named O’Neills Manager of the Year for the second year in a row as a result of leading his side to their third successive title in September.
Claire O’Connor, Catherine O’Loughlin and Deirdre Codd all collected awards for Wexford, as did forwards Katrina Parrock, Kate Kelly and Ursula Jacob, named Player of the Match in the final against the Rebels.
Gemma O’Connor collected her seventh All Star for Cork while the Mackey sisters, Pamela and Katrina, became the first twins to win Camogie All Stars.

“The All Star and Soaring Star awards are held in very high esteem and the competition for places shows us how greatly they are valued,” said President of the Camogie Association, Aileen Lawlor.
“Congratulations to JJ Doyle on his second successive Manager of the Year award. He has helped write Wexford into the history books, achieving their third senior camogie All Ireland in a row in 2012. It is a tremendous achievement for JJ.”
