Cork hit seven (yes, seven) against Waterford tonight

It was an evening to forget for Roddy Collins’ men at Turner’s Cross.

CORK CITY EARNED an emphatic 7-0 victory against Roddy Collins’ Waterford side at Turner’s Cross tonight, with all the goals coming in one prolific 45-minute period.

Second-half strikes from Danny Morrissey, Ian Turner, Gavan Holohan, Gearoid Morrissey, Mark O’Sullivan (2) and Conor McCarthy helped the hosts earn a thoroughly convincing win.

Meanwhile, in the biggest game of the night, Airtricity League leaders Dundalk were beaten 1-0 by St Pat’s after extra-time, with Rory Feely scoring the winner in the second period.

In addition, Galway’s excellent start to the season continued, as they beat Finn Harps 4-2 on penalties, as the game ended scoreless after extra-time.

Finally, after another scoreless draw, Shelbourne defeated Bohs 4-3 on penalties
