Coral punter Simon Pike: I could be the world's unluckiest man

AC Milan’s 2-0 win over Barcelona lost the man a £1m fortune.

SIMON PIKE, THE Coral pundit who lost out on a £1million windfall when Barcelona failed to beat AC Milan 2-0 at the San Siro on Wednesday night, has told Today FM that he must be one of the world’s unluckiest men.

Speaking on The KC Show early this afternoon, Pike described how he was only two correct scores away from an eight-game accumulator that would have made him a life changing, seven-figure sum.

Pike actually correctly predicted the scorelines in all eight matches, but while he believed Barcelona would beat Milan 2-0, the Italian club defied expectations and defeated Lionel Messi and company by the same scoreline.

“Just a fraction off of a £1m – I could be one of the world’s most unlucky men,” he said.

“The first match was Celtic and Juventus, and I can’t remember the other ones to be honest.

“I had Galatasaray v Schalke at 1-1, and then I had 2-0 to Barcelona! As a consolation, Coral say they’re going to send me to the Nou Camp. It’s no £1m but it’s something.”

Pike also revealed that the bet he had made was completely free.

“It was a free promotional bet so I put nothing on. I’d imagine Coral would have been crying.

“My boss let me finish work early so I went to watch the match. I was crushed when the goal went in, I was gutted, because I knew I wouldn’t get the £1m. There’s no harm in doing another free bet but I’ll never get that close again.”
