The Munster scrumhalf will weigh up the pros and cons of a move to France later this season.

IRELAND SCRUMHALF CONOR MURRAY insists he is will ‘think seriously’ about a potential move to play in the Top 14 but not until the November tests are out of the way.

Murray is one of 12 senior Irish players out of contract with the IRFU in 2014. He has been linked with a move to Jonny Sexton’s Racing Métro but is hopeful a deal can be struck to see him remain at Munster. Asked if he would be interested in a move to France, Murray responded, “I don’t know yet.”

He added, “Obviously there’s a lot of rumours out there at the moment. I haven’t seriously gotten into discussions with the IRFU yet. The rumours are going to be flying around the place at the minute.

It’s something you have to consider; you have to keep your options open. I love playing for Munster and Ireland, at the moment, so that’s where I see myself. We don’t know yet.”

Murray commented, “I suppose Jonny going might open the doors for other people to go out there and experience that. They are decisions I’ll have to make in the coming months and I’ll have to think seriously about it.”

Murray was cleared of a ban threat earlier this week after he was cited for striking Glasgow Warriors’ Niko Matawalu last weekend. He is now free to play the tests against Samoa, Australia and New Zealand.
