Where are the best places to watch McGregor v Diaz at UFC 196 in Ireland?

There are several viewing parties taking place if you’re looking to go out for this weekend’s big MMA event.

THERE’S ANOTHER UFC event with huge Irish interest in Las Vegas this weekend, meaning many of those who haven’t travelled over to Nevada will be planning a late night on Saturday.

Considering Conor McGregor took just 13 seconds to end Jose Aldo’s 10-year unbeaten run and finally get his hands on the UFC featherweight belt back in December, the smart move could be to press record, hit the hay and watch it at your leisure over Sunday breakfast.

However, there are bound to be some keen on a night out for UFC 196 and several establishments in the capital (we haven’t come across any outside Dublin but let us know if you do!) are once again providing what have become regular viewing parties.

As usual, Harry’s On The Green is showing the full card. For those interested, you’ll need to pick up your €10 wristbands before tomorrow night, then show up at the bar by midnight.

The Living Room and Murray’s Bar will have the fight on their big screens, but alcohol won’t be sold beyond 2.30am and tickets are €20. Over at Sin Nightclub, meanwhile, it’s €15 for tickets and last entry is 1am.

At the Red Cow Hotel, FM104 Freaks on Friday DJ Al Gibbs is playing before the main event. Tickets are priced at €20 and doors open at 11.45pm.

Key Irish times (approx):

  • Saturday, 12am – The weigh-ins (BT Sport 2 & UFC YouTube channel)
  • Saturday, 11.30pm – Fight Pass prelims get underway (UFC Fight Pass)
  • Sunday, 1am – Televised prelims begin (BT Sport 2 & UFC.tv)
