McGregor will face veteran Dennis Siver in Boston this January but has his sights fixed on champion Jose Aldo, who defeated Chad Mendes in a superb fight in Rio next week.
“Conor has done a great job with [promoting himself],” Pearson told the Telegraph’s Gareth A Davies. “That’s what he likes to do and he has created a lot of media around him. He’s talked his way in to massive fights. Congratulations to him. That’s his approach, that’s his style and I’ve got nothing against him.
“I’m not jealous or upset by any means. People say, why don’t you do that? Why don’t you talk like that? But I can’t. I’m not that type of person. If I did try to do that, I’d look silly.
“I just go in there and fight 110 per cent and lay it all on the line. There hasn’t been one fight in the UFC where I haven’t shown up. I go in there and fight. It’s working for me so far and I feel better than I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m in the happiest place I’ve been.”
