Over 40 hours after McGregor's Vegas KO, 317,400 tuned in to watch on free-to-air

CONOR MCGREGOR’S UFC 178 knock-out win over Dustin Poirier was watched by an astounding total audience of 317,400 people when the Saturday night fight was broadcast by 3e… on Monday.

BT Sport hold the live broadcast rights for the UFC in Ireland and as the fight took place in Las Vegas the 3.30am start time was also a prohibitive factor for many.

The TV3 Group channel measured an average viewing figure of 76,600 for the repeat of the bout last night and a total of 317,400 individuals – 7.7% of the available viewing population.

Men aged 15- 34 were the dominant demographic in the ratings with an average of 26.9%.

“We are delighted to be able to broadcast premium UFC events to the free-to-air audience in Ireland,” said TV3 head of sport Kieran Holden.

“Conor McGregor has a massive following here and we are pleased to bring more of his fights to his growing fan base.”
