CONOR MCGREGOR HAS GOT himself into another war-of-words with a rival fighter by criticising Ricardo Lamas’ fighting style.
Former featherweight title challenger Lamas took just three minutes to defeat Dennis Bermudez at UFC 180 in Mexico over the weekend with a first round guillotine choke.
And after the victory, the 32-year-old American revealed that he is eager to fight McGregor next year.
“The biggest guy everybody’s talking about in this featherweight division is Conor McGregor, and I’d love a fight with him. I know he’s matched up in January, but if he wins that fight, I think he needs to fight a wrestler like me before getting to the title.”
However, fellow 145-pounder McGregor then took to Twitter to slag off Lamas — claiming that he ran for five rounds in the loss to champion Jose Aldo at UFC 169 back in February.
“Hard luck Dennis Bermudez,” McGregor tweeted. “You wore my ‘Stay Ready’ line with pride. We are all proud of you here at McGregor Inc.
I would’ve sponsored Lamas too, only he fought like a pussy against Jose. McGregor Incorporate does not reward pussies who run for 5 rounds.
