Potential McGregor v Aldo fight will be in Vegas, says Dana White

Las Vegas isn’t Croke Park, sadly.

THE RUMOURS AND uncertainty surrounding the potential title fight between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo look to have been put to bed as UFC President Dana White last night said that the fight will take place in Las Vegas.

There has been a lot of talk of the fight potentially going ahead in Croke Park but that now looks to be out of the question after White was interviewed at the Boston Celtics match last night.

“If Conor McGregor wins on Sunday he fights Jose Aldo, who hasn’t lost a fight in nine years. They’ll fight for the title. That one’s going to be in Vegas,” White told the Celtics TV channel.

Tomorrow morning’s fight has seen a record number of ticket sales for the UFC, 12 percent of which came from Ireland.

“The place is going to be full of the Irish from Ireland and the Irish Americans, it’s going to be crazy,” said White.

With McGregor now priced at 1/12 to defeat Siver most think it will be a routine win for the Dubliner, but White isn’t so sure.

“A lot of people think that because Conor is so charismatic and says how he feels, that this fight in going to be a walkover. I disagree.

“He’s fighting the 10th best fighter in the world. Denis Siver has the best spinning back-kick in the world, he’s knocked people out with that to the body. And he has knockout power in both hands. And the things that Conor McGregor has said about him have made him very angry and motivated him.”
