FORMER UFC CHAMPION Lyoto Machida believes that current UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo, is a better fighter than Conor McGregor and that the Dubliner does not have what it takes to take Aldo’s world title from him.
Aldo recently defeated his nearest challenger, world number two Chad Mendes, in a spectacular bout ten days ago, something Machida thinks proves his superiority to McGregor.

“If you’re going to compare him to Jose Aldo, Aldo is technically better,” Machida told MMAFighting.com. “(McGregor) is a tough fighter, he’s coming out strong, but you can’t say he beats Aldo. Aldo is too dominant.”
At the start of October Aldo criticised McGregor’s outspoken ways saying that it would “feel so good to punch a hole through Conor McGregor’s face.”
He went on to say: “The guy has been talking so much crap. The guy has got a huge hype train behind him. It’s going to feel good to get in there and just dismantle this dude.”
But Machida thinks that McGregor is going about his business the right way.
“He can promote himself the way he wants. I don’t see (McGregor) as a bad person,” Machida said. “He’s right, he’s promoting himself this way, and we have to respect him.”
