CORKMAN CONOR HOURIHANE has shown once again tonight why he is rated as one of the best performers in the Championship this season, by scoring a sensational free-kick in Barnsley’s victory over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.
The Tykes scored three goals in nine minutes after Chris Wood opened the scoring for the visitors, with Tom Bradshaw and Ryan Kent replying for Barnsley, before Hourihane’s headline-grabbing strike.
Wood netted a late penalty to give Garry Monk’s side hope, but Barnsley held on to earn all three points to leave them just four points behind Sheffield Wednesday, who sit in the final play-off spot, with Leeds in fourth.
Hourihane, who has six goals and a league-best 11 assists this season, has yet to earn a full cap for the senior international side.
