And today, the midfielder conjured his fourth league goal of the season – rifling home a magnificent left-foot strike to the top corner against Norwich.
It’s the kind of form that Martin O’Neill can’t really ignore and it seems inevitable that Hourihane will be part of the senior panel for the foreseeable future.
