It will be the first time the sides have met since February 1995, when the game had to be abandoned after English hooligans caused crowd trouble at Lansdowne Road.
The friendly will come a week before Ireland’s qualifier against the Faroe Islands on June 7 and World Cup 2014 hosts Brazil will also face the Three Lions on February 6 as part of the celebrations.
The two football associations have also provisionally pencilled in November 2014 for a return fixture in Dublin.
