Also, swapping Balotelli for Heskey and celebrating the Irish sports people of the year.

Ruth Keogh is sick of the arguing over who should be the Irish sports person of the year.

Instead of arguing, how about we look at from a different angle. Isn’t it great that we have so many amazingly talented people to choose from. 2014 has been a good year in Irish sport, let’s hope 2015 is just as great xxxx

Mike Cullinane sees a link between hurling and darts.

Shefflin would be like Bobby George if the Hurlers got them.

The comments section in our Football Clichés interview took jargon to a whole new level.

If you do read it, just take it one page at a time.

Batigol had a clever update of the by now clichéd joke about Robbie Keane’s boyhood dream in the article on LA Galaxy playing Shamrock Rovers.

A boyhood club Robbie probably won’t join. :(

Mac L celebrated Christmas early owing to the high standards of commenting on the Neville and Carragher zonal marking piece.

Good points, well made. And a back and forth in the comments section that didn’t resort to name calling as well. I’m off to the pub to celebrate.

Setrakian is a big fan of Jimmy White as both a player and a person.

Such an incredibly gifted player & a joy to watch when in full potting mode. If he’d been clean there’s no doubt he’d have hoovered up multiple world titles instead of coke but being above ground & competing after all he’s been through is still one hell of an achievement. My brother used to own a pub in Cork and years ago Jimmy came over to play exhibition snooker in the pub to raise funds for a local charity – didn’t ask for a cent – paid his flights, hotel etc and was a thorough gent. Probably got a few free pints though! Jimmy you’re a legend regardless.

Dave Murray is amused by Raheem Sterling’s reportedly exorbitant wage demands.

And don’t forget that Sterling will no doubt be accepting no less than £100,000 a week in basic salary after today.

Adrian Bane wants to see Andy Lee defend his world title in Thomond Park, and we can’t say we disagree.

“Couldn’t happen to a better fella than andy lee, hopefully gets a chance to fight and defend his title in thomond park.”

dabuyincojen has some advice for Brendan Rodgers.

Bring in Heskey for Ballotelli!!

Stephen O’Flynn is a fan of Alan McLoughlin.

Both parents irish. To me that’s full Irish and I have met so many like him in London . They tend to be more patriotic than ourselves to be honest.
