NICOLAS COLSAERTS MISSED out on a place in the history books by millimetres yesterday.
The Belgian shot a remarkable round of 11-under-par to lead by three after the first day of the Portugal Masters.
But he watched in dismay as a putt for the European Tour’s first ever 59 somehow stayed out on the final hole.

He said: “When I made eagle on 15, I knew then that if I birdied the last three, that would have been 59.
“I parred 16 and then walking down the fairway on 16, I tell Brian [Nilsson, caddy] after I hit a good drive, I was like, ‘It’s 59 or nothing.’”
Good luck Shels.
