Cobh Ramblers receive First Division license ahead of 2013 season

In addition, the provisional fixture list for the league is set to be released at 12pm tomorrow.

COBH RAMBLERS HAVE been awarded a licence by the Independent Club Licencing Committee to compete in the 2013 Airtricity League First Division, it has been announced today.

The club had previously failed to meet the criteria needed to obtain a license, but the decision paves the way for the establishment of an eight-team Airtricity League First Division, subject to licenses being issued.

They had requested that an early decision be made in their case, owing to their status as a new applicant, meaning they can now register players prior to the 31 January amateur transfer window deadline.

And speaking following the decision, Airtricity League Director, Fran Gavin, said:

“Cobh Ramblers has a tradition of League football for many years. This is a new beginning for the club and the people of Cobh. We encourage everyone locally to get behind the club and we look forward to their Airtricity League participation in the 2013 season.”

Meanwhile, the provisional fixture list for this season’s Airtricity League First Division is set to be released at 12pm tomorrow.
