Club call: Dunloy rue missed chance as Loughgiel retain Antrim title

Cuala booked their place in the Dublin hurling decider against Kilmacud Crokes meanwhile.

Loughgiel Shamrocks retained their Antrim SHC title thanks to a 1-11 to 1-7 win over Dunloy Cúchullain’s at Casement Park yesterday evening.

Dunloy were wasteful throughout and will regret their profligacy with the game in the balance at half-time, 1-4 apiece. Shamrocks’ pushed on in the second period however and hung on to keep their title for another year.

Dublin

Cuala will face Kilmacud Crokes in the Dublin SHC final after both sides came through testing semi-finals at Parnell Park yesterday.

Cuala held on at the end for a 2-19 to 2-12 win over Crumlin 2-12.

Later, at the same venue, Kilmacud saw off 14-man Lucan Sarsfields comfortably enough, 2-11 to 0-17.

The decider will be played in a fortnight’s time.

Down SHC final

Portaferry saw off Ballycran with a scoreline of 3-8 to 1-11 at Ballygalget yesterday afternoon.It’s the east Down’s first title in six years and 19th in total.
