Two late Limerick goals took the sting out of the scoreline but on a whole, this was a game in which they were a distant second best.
Liam Madigan’s goal shortly before half-time helped Clare to a 1-13 to 0-2 lead at the break.
And when Aiden Davidson struck in the opening minute of the second half, the margin quickly became 17 points.

With the wind behind them, Limerick managed three second-half goals but it’s Clare who progress to a second playoff against Waterford next Tuesday, 29 April.
