Clare fans get chance to see All-Ireland Final on big screen... in Ennis

The town council is inviting Banner supporters along to cheer on their team against Cork.

ENNIS TOWN COUNCIL has confirmed it will publicly screen live coverage of Sunday’s All Ireland-Final between Clare and Cork.

The screen will be erected at Abbey Street car park and entertainment will be provided, from 2:30pm until 6pm, for Banner fans who head along to cheer on their county’s hurlers. The game throws in at 3:30pm.

Ennis town manager Ger Dollard said, “It has been 11 years since Clare last contested an All Ireland Final and 16 years since the County last won the Liam McCarthy Cup. As a result there has been huge build-up of excitement in recent days and weeks and as a result, we are delighted to play our part in adding to what will be a wonderful occasion for Clare people next Sunday.”

“The issue of accessibility to All-Ireland Final tickets has proven to be difficult for many thousands of Clare people,” Dollard added. “The entertainment that is being provided in Ennis this Sunday will enable people to celebrate [finals] day with fellow Clare supporters.”

Dollard thanked the local business community and its media partner for the day, Clare FM.

Vehicular access to Abbey Street car park will be restricted from early Sunday morning. However, people travelling to Ennis town centre to watch the game on the screen can avail of free parking at various other locations throughout the town. For more on the event, check the town council website.
