Newmarket against Crusheen the pick of the Clare SHC quarter-finals

The draw for the last eight was made this evening.

2012 CLARE SENIOR hurling champions Newmarket-on-Fergus will play 2010 and 2011 winners Crusheen in the quarter-finals of this year’s competition after the draw was made this evening.

Newmarket, the most successful club in the county with 23 wins at senior grade, had to wait 31 years between their last two titles in 1981 and 2012. Their opponents Crusheen, on the other hand, have just the back-to-back successes in this decade to their name.

Elsewhere, 2009 champions Cratloe will play Éire Óg. The Ennis club are the second most successful in Clare but their last title came in 1990.
