THE MUNSTER COUNCIL have yet to be contacted by Clare GAA chiefs about a deferral for the Banner club representatives games in this yearโs AIB provincial senior hurling and football championships.
Clareโs efforts to run off their club championship schedule have been hampered by their county senior and U21 hurling teams progressions this summer to All-Ireland finals.
Last Sundayโs senior draw against Cork which results in a replay on September 28th places further pressure on the Clare county board to complete their fixtures programme.
Only one round of group games in the Clare senior hurling championship has been played to date and no further games will take place until early October.
There are five rounds remaining โ two rounds of group matches, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final โ before Clare are expected to have a team to compete in the Munster senior club semi-final on Sunday November 10th.
In addition the Clare senior football championship has been held up due to the involvement of Podge Collins and Cathal McInerney with Cratloe and Tony Kelly with Clondegad.
The Clare senior football champions are due to play in the Munster club championship on Sunday November 17th.
โWe havenโt been contacted yet by the Clare county board on the matter,โ Munster Council PRO Ed Donnelly told TheScore.ie today.
โBut as it happens thereโs a CCC meeting of the Munster Council this Thursday. That would be the forum to raise any issues that counties are having.
โThe CCC would then consider any request regarding club fixutres that comes before them. Itโs an unusual situation regarding the replay and weโll have to see what happens.โ
Surely Moyes wasnโt under any pressure. Took them over in 19th a couple of weeks ago.
@Clay Davis: Exactly. Heโs done a great job so far
