JUST TWO APPEARANCES into his Munster career, South African flanker CJ Stander has been sidelined by a broken bone in his hand, the province announced today.
Stander made his first appearance for the southern province since moving from the Blue Bulls in the home defeat to Llanelli nine days ago before starring with two tries in Saturday’s win over Glasgow Warriors at Thomond Park.
The hand injury will keep Stander, 22, out of action until the new year with the primary focus on the imminent home and away Heineken Cup clashes with Saracens.
Number eight James Coughlan is added to the province’s ERC registration after recovering from a groin injury sustained early this season. Niall Ronan will also be available for Rob Penney’s side after recovering from a head injury in the defeat to Scarlets.
