Ciaran Clark scored for Villa earlier and then absolutely cemented Leonardo Ulloa

The defender had a substantial impact at both ends of Villa Park earlier today.

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND defender Ciaran Clark got on the score-sheet for Aston Villa earlier, grabbing the equaliser in what ended up being a 2-1 victory for his side over Leicester.

It was his first of the season and he took it nicely too, sliding in to cushion a diving header to the net after Ashley Westwood sent in a dangerous free-kick.

But, shortly before half-time, Clark excelled in more familiar territory and made a brilliant, bone-crunching challenge on Leonardo Ulloa, the man responsible for the game’s opening goal.

The Argentine attacker was subsequently replaced at the interval – hardly surprising given the thumping nature of this tackle.
