CHELSEA HAVE SECURED a major transfer early in the January transfer window with the announcement that attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic will join the Premier League side.
But the 20-year-old will not be in action for the Stamford Bridge outfit until next season with Chelsea having signed him for €64 million and then loaned him back to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the campaign as per the deal they have struck with the German club.

Pulisic joined Dortmund in the spring of 2015 as a 16-year-old and made his Bundesliga debut in 2016. He has been a regular for the team over the last few years and has made 11 appearances in the league this season.
He has scored three goals to date this season as Dortmund sit top of the Bundesliga with a six-point lead over Bayern Munich entering the winter break while they have reached the last 16 of the Champions League where they will face a first leg tie against Tottenham on 13 February.
Pulisic has won 23 caps for the USA and netted nine times, including seven in their unsuccessful 2018 World Cup qualification campaign.

Hazard’s replacement.
@Derek Peyton: no he won’t be hazards replacement. He was a long term target for the club. Hazard isn’t going anywhere
@McDaniels 2019: he is though, they always go to Madrid in the end.
@Paul: Hazard will go to Madrid. Pulsic has potential but is no replacement for Hazard as he does not start at Dortmund.
@Paul: Doubt it, they play on different wings. Besides that, Willian and Pedro are both the wrong side of 30 so won’t be around for long.
@Conor Flynn: doesn’t matter he’s still off, they always say the right things, but in the end they always leave, he’s there about 6 or 7 years now, Madrid also need a rebuild, he will be the start of it
@McDaniels 2019: hahahaha
@Conor Flynn: pulisic can play on either wing. Do u not play FIFA lol
@Paul: “in the end they always leave”, that’s something that used to happen but hasn’t happened as much recently. He seemed way more keen to go when Zidane was in charge as he was one of his idols but has cooled it on them since.
Hazard is going to Madrid , when they come calling ( courtois ) it’s hard to refuse for a player , badge kissing or not , legend or otherwise . Costa was never replaced and problems at the back also …..
Great signing
The rebuilding starts .. obviously Hazard will stay. Big investment in players to come . Liverpool snubbed as well ..all good
@Joe O’riordan: liverpool bought shaqiri in the summer and pulled out of a deal for fekir for whatever reason , considering pulisic is supposed to be a similar type of player, I’d say you could feasibly come to the realisation that this kid was way down the list, but if the thoughts of him snubbing liverpool makes you feel better about him being hazards replacement then by all means knock yourself out.
@Joe O’riordan: In what way were Liverpool snubbed?
@Peter Govan: bought to complement hazard not replace him…chelseas transfer record mostly good hence tge multiple premier league titles. And believe me that liverpool were desperate to get him . Kid is obviously ambitious…
@Joe O’riordan: leaving a team top of the Bundesliga to join a team playing Europa League football isn’t a sign of ambition. It’s cute that you think Hazard is going to stay but I reckon all the racist chanting over the last few months has turned him right off Chelsea.
@Virgil Van Dijk: Does Klopp really know the player? He didn’t make his Dortmund debut until 6 months after Klopp left.
@Joe O’riordan: Who do you know at Chelsea or liverpool that led you to believe liverpool were desperate to land him ??? Or are you just surmising that yourself ?? . All the evidence points otherwise .
As regards your premier league titles no one can argue , but to suggest all Chelsea’s big money signings were successful isn’t really true .
Whoever your source is I reckon there being disingenuous with you about hazard. If Madrid want him hes gone. This pulisic kid isn’t even in the Dortmund team.
Like I said knock yourself out
@Joe O’riordan: ‘Believe me..’ ? That’s your evidence Liverpool wanted him? Forgive me if I’m not convinced.
@Dermot Dooley: considering he was manager of the club and he would have watched the youth teams aswell, and if hes as good as the o Riordan fella with the inside info at both liverpool and Chelsea suggests I’d say he knows quite a bit about him.
@Peter Govan: He may have seen him in the youth team but it was only for a couple of months before he left. The narrative has been that Liverpool were favorites because Klopp coaches him at Dortmund, but he didn’t really. Pulisic joined the youth team in the February and Klopp left at the end of the season. If he wanted to follow his coach it would have been Tuchel at PSG as he promoted him from the youth team and gave him his debut.
@Joe O’riordan: ah good old Joe, the chelsea”fan” pops up every now and then, usually with something to say about Liverpool! Never seem to hear from him when chelsea lose or when their “fans” are accused of racial abuse..
@Brian Curtin: yep, he has much more interest in criticising Liverpool than talking about Chelsea. Strange that. Muted him months ago.
@Joe O’riordan: multiple? You’re a bit of a Walter Mitty. Chelsea haven’t too many titles. If you said United and their multiple titles it would make more sense
All the little fishies biting..
