Government officials are keeping a close eye on the Chris Christie-Jerry Jones bromance

Uh oh.

A NEW JERSEY state committee is considering an investigation into the ‘bromance’ between governor Chris Christie and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Democratic Assemblyman John Wisniewski says he and co-chairwoman Loretta Weinberg have discussed probing whether the Republican governor violated state ethics rules when he accepted tickets from Jones.

The two were seen celebrating together as the Cowboys beat the Detroit Lions in the NFC wildcard game on Sunday

Wisniewski says this is “precisely the type of behaviour that is within the jurisdiction of the committee’s scope of authority.”

He pointed to a Wall Street Journal story reporting that the Cowboys co-own a company that received a contract with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Christie’s office says he’s allowed to accept gifts from friends and the governor has fully complied with state rules.
