ITV’S ADRIAN CHILES landed himself in hot water last night after making sweeping stereotypes about England’s Polish community.
Chiles was anchoring ITV’s coverage of England’s World Cup qualifying win over Montenegro. Before signing off from the broadcast, Chiles looked ahead to Tuesday’s meeting with Poland and called it ‘practically a home game’ for the visitors.
Lee Dixon interjected that he hoped ‘they’re all crying at the end’, to which Chiles offered an apparent attempt at humour in the form of: “I’m trying to get some building work done at the moment, quite seriously.”
