A sell-out crowd of 67,000 is expected at Prestbury Park this afternoon for the fourth and final day of this year’s Festival where the blue riband Gold Cup — worth more than £325,000 to the winner — goes to post at 3.20pm.
Defending champion Bobs Worth is set to go off a short-priced favourite and his task was made slightly easier this morning with the withdrawal of the Michael O’Leary-owned First Lieutenant.
O’Leary’s fortunes will now rest solely on his other runner, Last Instalment, while Silviniaco Conti is a live danger again this year.
