IN WHAT WAS a fantastic week for minnows, San Marino secured their first-ever point in the European Championship qualifiers against Estonia at the weekend.
The hosts had previously lost every qualifier they competed in since entering the competition for the first time in 1990.
While their opponents on the day, Estonia, are no world beaters themselves by any means, itโs easy to understand the part timersโ elation, as shown above, under the circumstances.

Estonia are no world beaters, as you say. But donโt forget they made the play-offs for the previous European Championship. Itโs not a bad accomplishment for San Marino at all, but lets face it, that record of theirs is an embarrassment.
