CHARLIE WARD WILL get an opportunity to redeem himself when the UFC returns to the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow this summer.
The organisation announced this morning, via Twitter, that Ward (3-2) will take on debutant Galore Bofando (4-2) in a welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night 113 on Sunday, 16 July.

A headline bout has yet to be announced for the event, which will be the UFC’s first in Scotland since Fight Night 72 in July 2015, which featured wins for Irish pair Joseph Duffy and Paddy Holohan.
The confirmation of Ward’s second UFC outing comes just over a week after Conor McGregor, Ward’s team-mate at Straight Blast Gym in Dublin, revealed on Instagram that the 36-year-old is set to compete on the Glasgow card.
The UFC lightweight champion wrote: “I am happy to announce that Charlie Ward will have his redemption fight on the UFC Scotland card.
“It is hard work and focus from here on in for him. He must not only win here. He must dominate. I am confident he will make things right and show his true fighting capabilities.”
After receiving a shock call-up for his UFC debut in Belfast last November, Ward was outclassed by the undefeated Abdul Razak Alhassan, who was victorious via knockout after 53 seconds of the first round.
Bofando will be fighting for the UFC for the first time in his career. The English-based welterweight last competed in February 2015.
