Arsenal draw Besiktas, Celtic get Maribor in Champions League play-off

The draw for the final round before the groups stages was made in Switzerland this morning.

CELTIC, REINSTATED TO the Champions League this morning, have been drawn with Maribor for the play-off round.

UEFA made the decision to eliminate Legia Warsaw for fielding an ineligible player and replaced them with the Scottish Premiership champions an hour before the draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland.

Ronny Deila’s men, now just one round off the group stages, have been handed a trip to Slovenia while Arsenal will take on Turkish side Besiktas away from home before the return leg at the Emirates.

Elsewhere, Rafael Benitez’s Napoli have been handed a tough tie with Athletic Bilbao and APOEL, who have Ireland striker Cillian Sheridan in their ranks, meet AaB Aalborg of Denmark.

The two-legged ties takes place on 19/20 and 26/27 August.
