MMA LEGENDS CHAEL Sonnen and Tito Ortiz are set to headline Bellator’s first big fight night of 2017.
The two veterans will go head-to-head in the main event of Bellator 170 in Los Angeles on 21 January, president Scott Coker confirmed last night.

The light-heavyweight bout will be Sonnen’s first fight for the promotion since he quit the UFC and declared himself a free agent.
Now 39, the former UFC middleweight and light-heavyweight title challenger has not fought since November 2013 when he suffered a TKO defeat against Rashad Evans.
He was suspended for two years following two failed drug tests in 2014 but returned to training earlier this year and announced his comeback, signing a multi-fight deal with Bellator.
A showdown with Ortiz, 41, was first rumoured earlier this month. The UFC Hall of Famer is 2-1 in Bellator but hasn’t fought since losing to Liam McGeary by submission in September 2015.
