'May God punish you for your sins'. How Twitter reacted to the Cesc news

From the sublime to the ridiculous, social media once again proved relentlessly entertaining this afternoon.

IT’S SAFE TO say that the majority of Arsenal supporters weren’t exactly over the moon with the news that their beloved former midfielder Cesc Fabregas had joined Chelsea.

Many took to Twitter to vent.

As usual, some of the tweets proved highly entertaining.

Our favourite is Leon Knight’s simple, effective and incredibly weird message to the Spaniard. Knight is an ex-pro who started out his career at Stamford Bridge before embarking on a nomadic career in England, Greece and Northern Ireland.

Worth pointing out that at the time of writing, this had 46 re-tweets.

As is the norm, any news even vaguely involving Arsenal usually means ‘fan’ Piers Morgan will take to social media and offer his ‘analysis’. Rather inevitably, he was articulate, incisive and interesting with his opinions on this.

Elsewhere, things got very dark very quickly.

But, some will love Cesc forever and, using that logic, have switched allegiances. Easy, innit?
