After last week's embarrassment, Celtic blitzed their Gibraltar opponents tonight

Brendan Rodgers’ side made light work of Lincoln Red Imps.

THEY SUFFERED A humiliating first-leg loss but Celtic went some way to easing the memory by bossing their Champions League qualifier return fixture against Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps in Glasgow tonight.

In front of their own fans, Brendan Rodgers’ side absolutely battered the minnows during a hugely-dominant first half performance.

It still took them 23 minutes to find a breakthrough, though, and it was Mikael Lustig who conjured the opening goal.

Two minutes later, though, they doubled their lead thanks to Leigh Griffiths’ left-foot strike while the excellent Patrick Roberts – who is on loan from Manchester City – made it 3-0 just short of the half-hour as he delightfully played a one-two before tucking the finish to the far corner.

In complete control, what followed was an inevitable non-event as the Scottish champions barely got out of second gear after the break.

Next up for them is a clash with Astana from Kazakhstan in the third qualifying round.
