LeBron proves even the best player in the world can't help a one-man team win an NBA title

James was involved in 70 of the Cavs’ 91 points last night. They still lost.

LEBRON JAMES HAD his second triple-double — double digit points, assists and rebounds — of the NBA finals midway through the third quarter Sunday night.

He scored or assisted on all but 21 of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 91 points (77%).

After the game he, rightly, described himself as the best player in the world.

The problem for LeBron and the Cavs was that all his efforts were in vain as the Golden State Warriors took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series thanks to a 13-point victory (104-91) in game five.

Leading the way, as usual, was Steph Curry with 37-points, including this effort that left Matthew Dellavedova and Mike Miller with twisted blood:

Without injured starters Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, it’s difficult to see the Cavs, even with LeBron in this sort of form, clinching this series now.

Game six takes place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
