Castlebar coach dies following car accident

The club’s match with Shamrock Rovers today has been cancelled as a result of the accident.

THE WOMEN’S NATIONAL League fixture between Shamrock Rovers and Castlebar Celtic due to take place in Tallaght today has been cancelled, after the tragic death of Castlebar coach Jeremy Dee in a car accident.

A tweet from the FAI read: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jeremy Dee, coach of Castlebar Celtic, who passed away after a car crash today.”

An FAI statement, which confirmed that Castlebar personnel were involved in a serious car accident, earlier had read:

“The game has been cancelled due to a serious car accident involving personnel from Castlebar Celtic.

“Updates on developments will be made accordingly.

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with those involved at this time.”
