On Monday Night Football last night, Carragher and Neville had a fascinating debate on the controversial style of defending.
The former Man United full-back never himself used zonal marking during his Premier League career, and was unsurprisingly therefore not as big a fan of the system as Carragher.
The duo also discussed Liverpool and Arsenal’s abundance of technical players, suggesting the two teams lacked bite at the best of times, and compared them both unfavourably with the much more aggressive-looking Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
