CARLOW PROGRESSED TO the next stage of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship with a comprehensive 4-17 to 2-13 win over London this afternoon.
The Rainbow County have been able to keep the Londoners at arm’s length for most of the afternoon at Dr Cullen Park and have tagged on scores at will in the second-half, having led 1-7 to 0-5 at the break.

Sean Murphy got Carlow’s goal in the first half to give his side some breathing room. The visitors rallied to knock over a couple of points in the closing stages of the half, giving themselves hope of a comeback.
They got two more points after the break but a goal for Craig Doyle looks to have settled the tie before two London goals, from Martin Duggan and Luke Hand, set up a tense finale.
However Doyle grabbed his second with 11 minutes remaining and sealed the tie with his hat-trick moments after teammate Jack Kavanagh was sent to the stands for some roughhouse play.
London scored the last point of the afternoon but the late effort only succeeded in reduce Carlow’s winning margin to 10 points.
