SHANGHAI SHENHUA STRIKER Carlos Tevez angered local fans after visiting Disneyland on the same day that his club was in action in the Chinese Super League.
Tevez, who was ruled out of his side’s trip to Changchun Yatai due to a reported calf injury, was spotted by disbelieving fans at the Shanghai tourist attraction, as his struggling side battled to a tight 3-2 victory on Saturday.
The former Manchester United man has scored just a solitary goal in his first four games since moving to the Chinese Super League on a contract worth a reported £615,000 per week.
An eyewitness snapped pictures of him wearing a LeBron James jersey at Disneyland with friends and family members, including his baby child and wife Vanessa, which were shared on social media.
The ill-advised visit was greeted with widespread ridicule from Chinese fans on social media, with one person writing sarcastically: “Shenhua have been through a bad patch, he doesn’t know it? When every team-mate is working up a sweat, he is chilling out in Disneyland. What a ‘professional’.”
Another asked: “How can he justify his incredible salary with such an attitude? He doesn’t care a jot for the team!”
Some even called for his early exit, with one person writing: “Tevez is always complaining of homesickness. I’m sick of hearing it. It’s time for him to leave right now, for the good of both parties.”
Shenhua coach Gus Poyet has admitted Tevez is still struggling to adapt to his new life in China and asked fans for patience.

Excellent signing
excellent. he’s a better second row than McCarthy.
He’ll look good in red in two years.
Winners don’t jump on a sinking ship
Building a good squad for next season.
Great for Connacht, looks a decent signing. Is he a ‘special project’? (I.e Irish eligible after the 3 years)
Technically he could b but at 29 he’s unlikely to feature when eligible at 32. Same IQ rules don’t apply to Connacht.
At 32 a lock can still be quite useful.
Not eligible as he played for the Junior All Blacks (not an age grade side but rather the NZA team).
Ah…I had forgotten that..
That’s a big signing, fair play. Mc Carthy won’t be missed it seems.
Another lock for Lonster !
