LIVERPOOL DIRECTOR OF football Damien Comolli believes the club’s triumph in the Carling Cup can help attract top players to Anfield.
The Merseyside giants won their first trophy in six years thanks to a 3-2 penalty shootout victory over Cardiff, following a 2-2 draw after extra time. Frenchman Comolli, formerly a sporting director at Tottenham Hotspur, is confident the triumph on Sunday, and the Europa League qualification that goes with it, can kick-start sustained success at Liverpool.
