CARL FRAMPTON IS set to face Mexican Andres Gutierrez in a world title eliminator at Belfast’s SSE Arena on 29 July.
The former two-weight champion, whose last bout saw him narrowly lose the WBA featherweight belt to Leo Santa Cruz back in January, will fight in his hometown for the first time in over two years.

While the third episode in a trilogy with Santa Cruz was mooted, it hasn’t materialised and Frampton will take on his compatriot Gutierrez next month.
23-year-old Gutierrez has one defeat in 37 professional fights — going down to Cristian Mijares a year ago.
If 30-year-old Frampton prevails, he would meet WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr for the belt.
