MULLINAVAT OF KILKENNY clinched the Leinster intermediate hurling title on Sunday as Kiltale’s fairytale season came to an end.
Jamie Fennelly’s first-half goal was all that separated the teams in Pairc Tailteann with the final score reading 1-13 to 0-13.

Meath men Kiltale trailed by four at the break, 1-8 to 0-7, but they stuck to their task and were still in contention until the final puck.
Meanwhile, Cappoquin of Waterford were crowned Munster intermediate champions in a dramatic finish in Mallow on Saturday.
Killian O’Sullivan struck the winning point at the death to snatch a 1-11 to 0-13 victory over Limerick champions Bruff.
The underdogs upset the odds and in doing so became the first Waterford club to win the provincial intermediate crown.
Ulster champions O’Donovan Rossa (Antrim) await in the All-Ireland semi-finals but for now, the Cornerstone men can celebrate a famous win.
It was Bruff who started the stronger and led by four early on before Cappoquin pegged them back to a point at the break, 0-9 to 0-8.
O’Sullivan struck the game’s only goal on 40 minutes to edge the Déise side in front and it was the same man who stepped up with the winning score in the last minute.
