Ex-Ireland international Caleb Folan joins Malaysian club

The club’s coach says the striker is “fit and looks in good condition”.

FORMER IRELAND STRIKER Caleb Folan has signed for Malaysian Super League (MSL) side T-Team.

Folan joins ex-Aston Villa man George Boateng in the team, who are managed by English coach Peter Butler.

“We hope the new signing will help T-Team to put up a strong challenge in the league,” a club official told reporters.

Meanwhile, Butler said the 30-year-old would bring invaluable experience to the side, tweeting:

“Caleb is fit and looks in good condition, give him a few days to settle down into his new environment and we can get to work.”

The striker has been capped seven times by Ireland over the course of his career, most notably setting up Robbie Keane’s late equaliser during Ireland’s World Cup 2010 qualifier against Italy.
